For me, I submitted my application online. Waited 4 months for the interview appointment slot..
Post interview it took another 6 months before I got the In Principle Approval. So in total it took 10 months

My sense is that your salary range is not out of range for your standard "plain vanilla" database administrator with a few years of experience. But, I bet the expectation is that a specialized Oracle DBA with eight years of experience would be more of a senior role, in which case you should be $9k .....

The fact remains that a USA green card provides far more stability and security than the blue Singapore PR card. Assuming you are living in the USA (the whole concept around 'permanent resident'), your PR status is good for 10 years, and renewal is an automatic process... you don't have to prove .....

That's a renewal of the reentry permit (REP), though. There's no obligation to renew a REP. You can stay in Singapore as a PR without a REP for the rest of your life if you wish.
